You are here: MQ Chief Executive Officer
Location: London EC1Y
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £100-110k, depending on experience.
MQ brings together researchers and the public to fund ground-breaking mental health research more quickly. Following a one-off investment of £20 million from the Wellcome Trust in 2011, MQ is now established as a world-class funder of medical research and, at the start of 2020, is looking to substantially increase income, influence and impact. This trailblazing charity now requires an exceptional leader to steer the next phase of development.
This is a crucial time in the charity’s history and the successful candidate will be a confident and entrepreneurial leader who can develop and implement a three-year plan to significantly increase fundraising income and establish the infrastructure and culture needed to deliver this. They will also need to engage and inspire staff, trustees, donors and other external key stakeholders to help achieve their mission, whilst maintaining the organisation’s reputation for funding research of the highest quality and impact.
MQ are seeking interest from individuals who have a deep understanding of what is needed to deliver a sustainable, multi-channel fundraising programme. A proven track record in leadership in a complex setting is a must, as is a style and professional value that motivates, encourages and supports others to achieve goals. The charity needs to have a leader that is confident in decision making but also fosters a spirit of collaboration, integration and a ‘one team’ approach to planning and delivery.
This is a unique opportunity to join the UK’s leading mental health research charity and to shape the future of what mental health treatment looks like, to help the one in four people suffering from a mental illness. You will also be joining a passionate and committed staff team and an engaged and inspired Board of Trustees in an environment that fosters agility and innovation.
