Head of Africa Philanthropy
Location: Flexible, national or international
Salary: Up to £59,400
The role of Head of Africa Philanthropy will have responsibility for driving this international charity’s philanthropy across the African market. The role will maximise transformational major gift (£1m+) potential, drive new business and steward high value relationships. It will engage with the charity’s most valued supporters, secure support and build sustainable relationships of value; working alongside the Africa Advisory Board, sourcing significant income for the charity’s key priorities and ultimately transforming the lives of millions of children in Africa and internationally.
The charity’s Africa Philanthropy Programme works closely with both African donors and locaI organisations to help attract more resources to the sector in support of work that is transforming children’s lives. Their focus is to share resources to help strengthen and scale up other partners through the funds raised. This is helping the charity to work more effectively, build better connections and provide children with more opportunities to fulfil their potential.
The role will be integral to the delivery of the charity’s strategy to build long-lasting, highly-engaged relationships with philanthropists leading, cultivating & stewarding, with a focus on 7 figure gifts & relationships. It will steward transformational donors with excellence, will understand donor motivations and philanthropy trends across the African content, and will deliver a bespoke donor journey to ensure continuity of their engagement with the charity.
You will need extensive experience of working within major donor fundraising, preferably within an international context as well as experience of developing, networking and enhancing philanthropic relationships, preferably at £1m+ giving levels. You will have excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate & work across teams on complex programmes and donor relationships, building both strong internal and external networks.
