Contract: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £85,000 per annum

The Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity), which exists to transform the lives of seriously ill children and their families from across the UK, is seeking a Deputy Director of Public Fundraising to lead their public fundraising department to deliver growth in voluntary net income, tailored supporter journeys and exceptional supporter experience.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is one of the world’s leading children's hospitals. Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses.

GOSH Charity supports rebuilding and refurbishment at the hospital and helps support families and children, as well as funding research into children’s health and life-saving medical equipment.

Following a recent organisational restructure, the charity is launching a recruitment drive this October to create a new Fundraising Directorate to support a new and bold five-year strategy and investment. This includes the role of Deputy Director of Public Fundraising, the strategic lead for the charity’s investment in public fundraising at a truly exciting and transformational point in the charity’s history.

The role will be responsible for managing Heads of Committed Giving, Legacy and Donor Development, Legacy Management, Mass Participation and Community, and will develop and lead the charity’s high performing public fundraising team, enabling them to raise more than £50m a year.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership of a public fundraising function, with success in innovation and driving significant income growth across a multi-million pound fundraising portfolio. You will also have experience of delivering seven or eight figure income growth through individual giving and mass participation events/products. You will be an experienced people leader, able to inspire, unite and motivate diverse and talented teams. You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, and be highly skilled at internal and external networking and in developing relationships at all levels.
