Leonard Cheshire, the leading charity working to support people with disabilities, is seeking a Director of Fundraising to develop and implement an innovative and ambitious fundraising strategy across Customer Relationship Management, Individual Giving, Major Donors, Trusts, Legacy, Corporate and Regional Fundraising.
Leonard Cheshire has been working to open doors to opportunity for disabled people for over 70 years and to break down barriers that deny disabled people their basic rights. Through their aims and actions, they believe that a fair and inclusive world for everyone is possible. The charity now supports nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world through programmes that support independence, enable people to find work, learn new skills or get a school education in developing countries.
The role of Director of Fundraising will help identify the growth engines that can transform revenue acceleration at the charity both in the short and long-term, enabling them to increase their impact both nationally and internationally. The role will also be responsible for designing and leading the Leonard Cheshire fundraising development pipeline and for exceptional stewardship for individual donors, corporate, trusts and foundations.
The charity is seeking individuals with high energy, a collaborative approach and who are able to inspire and motivate their teams. They must have demonstratable experience of operating at a senior level in a large charitable organisation with direct management of all revenue generating functions, alongside a proven track record of delivering significant income growth in a turnaround organisation.
They must also be able to demonstrate achievements in innovation applied to transformational fundraising strategy development and implementation on a national basis. Finally, they will have excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, including HNWIs networking and securing significant gifts, alongside significant experience of digital strategies.
