Director of Fundraising
Location: Flexible although ability to manage teams in Wiltshire and London will be expected.
Contract: Permanent, full time – flexible working considered
Salary: Circa £80-85,000 per annum
Help for Heroes, the leading armed forces and veterans’ charity in the UK, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Fundraising to join their team and lead the Charity’s income generating operations to ensure sustainable income and drive growth for the future.
Help for Heroes supports those who becomes injured in service of their country. Every day, men and women leave a career they love in the Armed Forces as a result of wounds both visible and hidden; their lives changed forever. The charity supports them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with the rest of their lives.
This role will lead all income generation including trading, legacies, partnerships, community fundraising and individual giving for the charity, with a target for this year of £17m. The organisation is ambitious to grow all income streams as well as develop new ones. The role will also involve working with a passionate and driven Executive team to build the organisation’s organisational strategy.
The Director of Fundraising will lead a team of 45 expert fundraisers, passionate about building relationships between beneficiaries and donors to generate income. The team work collaboratively and with energy and ambition. Help for Heroes are seeking an experienced and ambitious Board level fundraising professional looking for an opportunity to make significant impact. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to lead teams to deliver sustainable growth and will need to be resilient in your approach, with a desire to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
The job can be remotely based and, when Government pandemic restrictions allow, will require regular travel to Wiltshire, London and elsewhere to meet donors.
