Location: Dublin with flexible approach to home-working under current restrictions.
Contract: Five-year contract.
Salary: €80,000
ActionAid Ireland, the international, human-rights based development charity and a member of the ActionAid International Federation, is seeking a CEO to lead the charity’s operations in the country and help deliver international momentum for social, economic and environmental justice, driven by people living in poverty and exclusion.
This role reports to the Chair of the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall management, control and operation of the charity. The organisation’s primary activities in Ireland include raising funds, campaigning, lobbying those in positions of power for change, and building the organisation’s external profile. It also includes an international programme of work focused around women’s rights and responding to humanitarian needs as they emerge, as well as delivering two targeted projects with partner organisations in Ireland.
The CEO will provide vision, leadership and management of the ActionAid Ireland team, represent ActionAid Ireland within the Federation and represent the organisation externally with supporters, partners, institutional donors and other stakeholders.
We are looking for candidates with substantial leadership and management experience within a complex organisational setting, or with current or previous CEO experience. You will have a proven track record of successful policy influencing, of building relationships with institutional donors at senior levels, as well as of strategic and long-term planning and meeting targets. You will possess an international outlook, excellent negotiating and communication skills, and an understanding of the development and implementation of effective fundraising strategies.
Finally, you will have a deep understanding and alignment with ActionAid’s rights-based approach: a commitment to social justice, poverty alleviation and gender equity, to internationalisation and localisation, to sharing power and to consciously putting women’s rights first.
