Location: Horsforth, Leeds (office/home-working hybrid available)

Salary: £43,676 - £53,382 per annum, depending on experience.

Contract: Permanent, full-time (condensed hours also considered)

The Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT), the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer, is seeking a Head of Fundraising and Communications to play a pivotal role in the delivery of their next strategic plan that will take them up to the year 2033.

BCRT aims to improve outcomes for people with primary bone cancer through research, awareness, information and support. Through the championship of an active and extremely engaged primary bone cancer community, the charity has significantly increased its income from c£680,000 in 2015 to over £3 million in 2021, enabling them to fund more pioneering primary bone cancer research than any other organisation in the UK.

BCRT is now seeking a highly talented, driven and passionate individual to join their award-winning team and to lead their fundraising and communications work. The successful candidate will have expertise in major donor and philanthropic fundraising which are new areas of development for the charity. The role will focus on increasing income through major donors and philanthropy to help significantly increase fundraising (and preferably unrestricted) income. The role will also involve overseeing the charity’s brand and delivery of multiple public awareness campaigns annually, as well as being part of an experienced and ambitious Senior Leadership Team.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven success in fundraising, including personally securing five to six figure donations, and will have significant knowledge and experience across a wide range of fundraising channels. You will also have strong knowledge of third sector communications, PR and marketing and be able to engage local and national media (including supporters as well as bereaved families) through a variety of mediums. Finally, you will be a strategic thinker and a collaborative leader with excellent communication, analytical and networking skills.
