I have posted on a couple of occasions thoughts on using Interims especially at a senior level. Directors or Heads of shall we say.
I have been looking over the extraordinary pool of talent now on Astarita Aldrich & Wards books today.
Four former top ten charity fundraising directors and numerous director level candidates that I would have snapped up in the day.
Need an interim CEO speak to me. Need a Communications Director guess what speak to me.
Because we are well connected and trusted some of the best talent in the sector is coming to us, talking to us, working with us.
Why use interims I hear you say?
Well with a bit of luck they could start tomorrow or next week.
You might be able to afford for a short time talent you could never afford over a longer period or at least think you can't. For instance three or four days of exceptional talent might be way better than 5 from another. Anyway great fundraising talent is worth their weight in gold. If you can't see that guess what you will never find them.
Not quite sure what you need, how a team is really performing, want a restructure the list is endless. Use someone who has been there, done it before and knows great fundraising or less than great when they see it.
Oh don't use an interim forever that just silly make use of talent with precision and purpose and for gods sake don't think you can just use them to sack people!
